Reconnecting Program
The Reconnecting Program serves adult brain injury survivors by providing opportunities to learn basic computer skills and purchase a refurbished computer. To consists of a combination of 3 complimentary programs, which include:
Process for Acceptance into Program
Who can apply?
- Individuals who are eighteen years of age or older
- Have an acquired brain injury resulting from
- Independent with their physical needs or have personal attendant to provide assistance.
- Managing challenges such as substance abuse, mental health issues or chronic pain with the help of appropriate professionals.
Computer Courses
Individuals taking computer classes: fill out an application form submit documentation substantiating that an acquired brain injury has occurred
have an assessment to determine which class level is most appropriate for the individual pay $20.00 fee for class commit to attending 4 classes twice a week for 4 weeks to be held consecutively

Computer Refurbishing Program
- Individuals interested in purchasing a refurbished computer:
- Contact the Reconnecting Coordinator
- Provide proof of brain injury for survivors
- Provide later of reference and proof on income for individuals who qualify as low income participants
- Discuss wants and needs in terms of software
- Make payment on computer (layaway if need be)
- Pick-up once final payment has been made

Volunteer Program
Individuals volunteering with EBIRS:
- Fill out the Volunteer Application Form
- Participate in an interview with the Reconnecting Coordinator.
- Complete a Police Check.
- Complete our Volunteer Orientation.
